UMBRAGROUP, an international technology leader in motion solutions for the aerospace and defence markets, has signed an agreement for the acquisition of a majority stake in General Defence, a leading Italian innovator in the field of unmanned aerial systems and integrated defence solutions.
The transaction represents a significant strategic milestone in UMBRAGROUP's growth journey, accelerating the Group's entry into the unmanned systems market while strengthening its position in high-value dual-use technologies serving defence, security and selected civilian applications.
General Defence has built a strong reputation for the development and integration of advanced unmanned aerial platforms, including solutions such as the VTOL REVOLUTION and the MULTI-MD multicopter, as well as related command-and-control, datalink and mission-system capabilities.
Following completion of the transaction, General Defence will retain its brand identity and continue operating from its headquarters in Rome, where a new industrial facility is currently being developed to support the company's next phase of expansion.
Francesco Colandrea will remain Chief Executive Officer of General Defence, ensuring continuity of leadership, technical expertise and entrepreneurial drive.

The completion of the transaction (closing) remains subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including the approval of the competent authorities and any applicable regulatory clearances.
