FROM A COMPONENT MANUFACTURER TO A PRODUCER OF COMPLEX SYSTEMS
THE CHALLENGE
Airbus requested the introduction of the first Safety Critical electromechanical retraction and extension actuators on Landing Gear. For the first time, UMBRAGROUP is Airbus Tier 1 on a Safety Critical application.
THE PROJECT
UMBRAGROUP implemented an innovative product management system which resulted in the completion of Landing Gear actuators design, development and production “from scratch to Entry-into-Service” in just three and a half years. All of the project reviews were passed successfully.
THE ACHIEVEMENTS
UMBRAGROUP obtained the EASA product certification which authorized the introduction of a new technology in the market that greatly simplifies maintenance activities and reduces the helicopter's environmental impact.
